Thanks, Mom

Now that I’m old enough to understand everything that you’ve done for me, I find my mind blown by it on a pretty regular basis. I really don’t know how you did it all, but I know you’d do it all again in a heartbeat. You taught me to laugh, to love the Beatles and books, to treat everyone I meet with love and kindness, to do everything I do the very best I can. You taught me how to love and how to have fun, how to see that flaws just add character. You encouraged me to try every new thing I could and to always keep learning, just by being the person you are. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for that. Thanks for driving me all over town, for teaching me how to drive (eee!), and for letting me go off to Russia all by myself. Twice. That’s the stuff grace is made of, I know it. Thanks for always being happy to hear my voice, for always welcoming me home, for drying my tears and for laughing with me loud enough to make everyone else in the restaurant complain. Thanks for always being so much fun. The whole internet couldn’t contain all the things I have to thank you for. You are such a treasure, and I love you.

So sweet, happy mother’s day in advance to your mom!

Thank you! And a very belated Mother’s Day to you!

So. My first thoughts when I saw your post were:
Oh, look at my beautiful baby! And,
Who is that NUT sitting beside my beautiful baby?
And here is a third thought:
You give me too much credit. To my way of thinking you children taught ME the things you think I taught you. Your beautiful hearts and spirits inspired me. That’s the way it was! Love you and love you!
May 10, 2013 @ 14:35:38
This third thought speaks to me. That’s how it has always felt in my life as well! However, I still say you are gift and grace. 🙂
May 14, 2013 @ 17:15:16
And you are gift and grace as well! Love you!
May 14, 2013 @ 17:12:17
No way, you deserve more credit than the whole world can give! You were the best, you are the best, you will always be the best. I hope you know what a gift and a delight you are to me. I love you!

The Beatles and books. She brought you up right.
May 14, 2013 @ 17:14:57
She most definitely did! Happy Mother’s Day to you too! Hope it was lots of fun:)

This was just perfect and sweet and wonderful. Y’all are both my favorites. Your mom is one of the mothers in my life who I hope to model myself after.
May 14, 2013 @ 17:19:41
Aw, thank you! I definitely hope to model myself after her too!
May 11, 2013 @ 13:11:28
I agree your mother truly is incredible and I give her a lot of credit for how the three of you have grown up.
May 14, 2013 @ 17:20:14
I agree, but don’t forget to give yourself credit too–you are the sweetest Daddy ever!
May 12, 2013 @ 11:07:36
I also want to thank your Mom for you. Pasadena is better for having you. She obviously raised you to go in the right direction! 😉
May 14, 2013 @ 17:25:17
Aw, thank you so much! You’re so sweet! 🙂
May 12, 2013 @ 14:33:49
That is the cutest picture ever. The Wiggins family must carry a gorgeous, beaming smile gene. I’m sure of it.
P.S. I’m honored to have been the recipient of one of your mother’s book recommendations. Thank you again, BFF!

Oh, you’re so welcome! My mom passed her copy on to me, and I just started it. I really like it so far! Hope you have some happy afternoons of baking and reading coming your way! They are so very deserved!
