Almost

This is a very short and silly post to inform you that I almost bought these shoes in Ventura. They were shiny! And on super sale! But I thought more than ten steps in them might break my ankles. I stand by my decision, but…they’re so glittery! Would you have bought them?

I know that shiny finish would attract many a magpie, but those shoes would only be good for being photographed in. And you would have to wear some other shoes to the photo shoot.

You are so right! Some of the ones I have are really already relegated to that category, and I’m thinking about stashing them in my purse and wearing flats until the last minute! I don’t know how women wear heels all the time, I really don’t. I guess if you do it every day for long enough, maybe your feet get used to it. But I was never willing to give it that much time!

YES

Oh Lainey, I love you!!

I tried on an almost identical pair of shoes at a store with my mother- and sister-in-law not long ago. (However, our store didn’t have that cool retro green shag carpet!) My mother-in-law snapped a photo of me on her phone, and the scene was pretty hilarious: My messy short hair and glasses and baggy jeans, accented with *glowing* high heels and an enormous grin! Naturally, I did not buy the loud and impossible-to-walk-in shoes. Currently I’m determined to find shoes in secondary colors (Especially green. And purple — with yours as my motivation! OK, and orange). I’m happy to say I’ve got the primaries covered, and — who knows — maybe I’ll move on to sparkles and metallics in the near future!?

Oh Moriah, I just love you! You are totally my kindred spirit, Anne of Green Gables style š I love that image of you trying on the shoes! And I want to join your colored shoe brigade! I have red, purple, and blue, but I love to have green and yellow. And orange too! And then, yes, metallics! Although I think I will probably need a rudimentary “how to walk in high heels” class along the way!

Kindred spirits for sure! I admit most of my shoes are flats or wedges, but I do have red, yellow and blue — so far! Have you checked out Miz Mooz shoes? Most important: they come in lots of great colors; plus they are walk-able and usually comfy. At retail they are spendy, but I know you’re like me and wait for Crossroads and eBay finds!

Ohhh, no, I haven’t! I will have to check it out! And definitely will be looking at Crossroads too–thanks for the tip! Walk-able is such a huge benefit š

Tempting! Somewhere along the line, I picked up this phrase, “When in doubt, don’t.” That makes it easier to choose and then I usually find something even more perfect later!! š

That is totally fantastic advice! It’s so true that things we are iffy about in the store, we will be even more iffy about in our closet. These were only ten dollars, but I thought they might break my ankles, so I was happy to just have the pleasure of trying them on š

I would have been tempted, but I just can’t wear heels like I used to. Old age.
Mar 26, 2013 @ 22:31:38
Hahaha! I remember so well the click of your heels in the hallway! If you’re in old age, consider me geriatric! My heel-wearing is limited to low ones, and only for special occasions:)
