Just Because

I love looking at our wedding photos.  (Thank you, Amy Dale!) This one, I believe, is from our last dance at the reception. I love it because, nine times out of ten, when Eric is home this is the position I find myself in. He (lovingly) calls me his barnacle. I was joking with everyone on our wedding day that we were definitely going to have to see each other before the ceremony (and I am so glad we did!) because Eric is the most calming and comforting presence in my life. I think this picture accurately testifies to that. And so, just because I am still in the throes of the mother of all migraines and cannot write too much, I wanted to share this image. In what has been a really hectic week, I am all the more grateful for moments like these. And for the moments when we both laugh until we cry because he didn’t see me flip the switch to his bedside lamp and thought it had come on by itself. Good times! We have been married for nine months now, and I can honestly say that they’ve been the most fun nine months of my life. I love him more every day, and I am always elated to find him magically by my side every morning when I wake up. You know you’re in love with someone when you miss them even while you’re sleeping. When every day brings you the same thrill of knowing you’ve got your best friend’s hand in yours, and that there’s nothing you can’t face together.
